NADA Regatta 2020-Looking for a little normal in these somber times of global COVID-19 pandemic

As the world is turned upside-down with the seriousness of the Coronavirus pandemic, we are looking for ways to find small moments of normal where we can. To this end, even as regattas and the  olympics are cancelled in 2020, we are fortunate to be able to continue to row and self-distance in our sculls on Cazenovia Lake.

Today we launched our weekly NADA regatta informal scrimmage/races with a 3,000 meter course(Jurreler's dock to Sandra Roger's estate yellow dock). 72 degrees SW winds at 3-4 knots, and blue sky, ideal day to start ramping up our efforts. Next week we move to full head race distance, 4.6K!

Three boats participated: Craig Buckhout and David Reed in single sculls, Jen Moffett and Emma Silverstein (rower at University of Southern California) in a 2X.

Results: 1X Craig Buckhout 13:49, 2X Moffett/Silverstein 14:15, 1X David Reed 15:13.
